![]() Sony has announced that it will launch a new “classic white” version of the PlayStation 3 Slim gaming console featuring a 160 GB hard disk, in Japan on July 29. The company will also release a new version of its “charcoal black”-colored PS3 Slim console with a 320 GB hard disk. The new model called CECH-2500A LW, will be able to display videos in up to 1080p resolution and will offer connectivity using Bluetooth 2.0. IEEE 802.11 b/g and Ethernet. The 320 GB hard disk on the “charcoal black” PS3 Slim model called CECH-2500B will allow for storage of more content and data including TV shows. The videos from the PS3 Slim can be viewed on an external HD display unit using the HDMI output present in the gaming console. Both the consoles will feature an XDR main RAM of 256 MB capacity and a GDDR3 VRAM of the same capacity. While the 160 GB HDD classic white PS3 Slim will be priced at 29,980 yen (around $342), the 320 GB HDD charcoal black PSR Slim will sell for a price of 34,980 yen (around $400).
