OCZ Octane Series SSD with Indilinx Everest Controller

OCZ Technology releases the Octane series solid state drive powered by Indilinx Everest SSD controller. The line includes the SATA 3.0-based Octane and the SATA 2.0-based Octane-S2. The Octane series is boosed by Indilinx Everest platform with dual-core CPU and up to 512MB DRAM cache.

The 2.5-inch Octane offers up to 560MB/s read and 400MB/s write speeds with 45,000 random read 4K IOPS performance, while the Octane-S2 delivers 275MB/s read and 265MB/s write speeds and 30,000 random read 4K IOPS performance. They are available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities. Using Indilinx’s controller, the Octane series SSDs come with the NDurance technology, increasing the lifespan of the NAND flash memory, ensuring the most consistent and reliable performance as well as minimizing performance degradation even after the drive’s storage capacity is highly utilized. They also support AES and automatic encryption to secure critical data.

You can also expect dynamic and static wear-leveling, and background garbage collection NAND flash management, TRIM command support and SMART reporting support.
