OCZ Talos 2 Series Dual-Ported SAS SSD for Enterprise

Following the Talos series, OCZ Technology introduces its new Talos 2 Series dual-ported SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) solid state drives designed for enterprise users. To deliver superior performance, the second generation Talos features OCZ’s Virtualized Controller Architecture 2.0 technology which implements an intelligent complex command queuing structure with unique queue balancing algorithms.

The 2.5-inch Talos 2 provides up to 70,000 4K IOPS random transactional performance and up to 42,000 8K IOPS mixed workload (75% read; 25% write) performance. It includes DataWrite Assurance Protection in case of sudden power loss, and it offers the option to enable T10-DIF (Data Integrity Field), allowing for the insertion of 8 bytes of additional data during transfers to ensure complete data integrity.

Currently, OCZ has released the Talos 2 R series that uses MLC NAND flash and comes in 200GB, 400GB, 800GB capacities. The R series provides up to 550MB/s read and 275MB/s write speeds.To meet different needs of enterprise users, the enterprise SSD series is also available in 100GB to 1TB capacities, in eMLC, and SLC NAND configurations.
