Onkyo BD-SP809 THX Certified 3D Blu-ray Player

Onkyo releases its new BD-SP809, a THX Certified Blu-ray player with support for 3D Blu-ray Disc. To deliver superb image quality, the BD-SP809 is equipped with Qdeo technology from Marvell to ensure pristine deinterlacing, noise-reduction, and 1080p upscaling. It supports DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD high-definition audio formats, and has a high-precision clock and a construction design that incorporates separate blocks for video/audio circuitry and a vibration-reducing top cover to preserver the integrity of these lossless formats.

The Onkyo BD-SP809 has been THX certified in recognition of its superior build quality, versatile functionality, and high performance levels. Other than Blu-ray Discs and 3D Blu-ray Discs, the player also plays DVD and CD discs including those encoded with popular compressed formats such as DivX HD, MP3, and WMA. It supports DLNA 1.5 and has a USB port for direct media playback from USB storage devices.

The Onkyo BD-SP809 also includes video-on-demand capabilities allowing consumers to stream movies and TV shows directly to their TVs in HD- or SD-quality video through the Netflix, Blockbuster, Film Fresh, and VUDU services. BD-SP809 will be available in August for $599.
