This could come as a surprise to many of you Sammy fans out there who have been waiting to know when the Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini would arrive. We already have word that Samsung is racing in its bid to roll out the device without much delay. Even as the wait continues, UK wireless carrier is ready with their plans to release the device in April.
The Three plan comes even as the phone maker is fast readying a release date for the much spoken about Galaxy S II GT-I9100. The carrier’s Galaxy S2 Mini road map may be seen as adding to Samsung fans’ interest now.
As we had told you earlier, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini will be pushed out of the company labs with a 3.7-inch display and will be driven by an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. The display, going by the pictures in the Three roadmap, will be a WVGA display (480×800) capacitive touchscreen , something which we had earlier seen on the HTC Desire S.
Though not very clearly visible, the images as seen by guys at Engadget hint that the Galaxy S2 Mini will have similarities in form and design with the Galaxy S 2. The device will come powered by a 1.4Ghz processor under the hood.
Dual cameras – one a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash at the rear and the other a VGA front facing camera that enables video calls and chat – will be something you will find interesting.
Connectivity aspects will include support to 3G networks with HSPA+ connectivity support, and also the GPS for location based services, WiFi (802.11n support) and mobile hotspot capability. If you are in the UK, tell us your experience. We are waiting to hear from you!
