![]() With the end of the year drawing near, many news websites and magazines are starting to compile their top ten lists. Recently, the writers from Nyulocal released their first list called, “The Top 10 Coolest Tech Innovations of 2009.” This list has some of the most impressive gadgets and software that were developed through out the year. Standing in at #2 is the impressive Sixth Sense concept that merges the digital world with the real world. The system uses a pico projector and a digital camera that hangs from your neck. By using color coded fingers, the user can interact with his surroundings as if it is one big virtual environment. The user can do things like get online reviews of books by holding one in front of him, hold his hands in a picture frame and instantly take a picture, or draw a clock on his wrist and have a digital one instantly appear. The system was developed by a student in MIT and he plans to release the software for the system soon for free.
