Verizon releases the Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr, which is the first netbook to use Verizon’s LTE 4G network. With support for 4G LTE, you can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G Mobile Broadband coverage areas. The netbook is powerered by an Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, 1GB RAM and 250GB hard drive.

Samsung is launching a new netbook in the Indian market, the N100 running MeeGo, instead of Windows. Based on Samsung N150P, the new netbook is boosted by an Intel Atom N435 1.33GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and integrated Intel GMA3150 graphics.
The N100 comes with a 10.1-inch 1024×600 LCD display and supports WiFi connectivity. It has a 4-in-1 card reader, two USB ports and VGA output. A 3-cell battery is included. The netbook measures 264 x 188.0 x 26.7 – 34.7 mm and weighs just 1.03kg.

Following the original Aspire One Happy, Acer introduces for the US market its new Aspire One Happy 2 color-inspired stylish netbook, which comes in four colors with unique names – Banana Cream, Blueberry Shake, Papaya Milk, and Strawberry Yogurt. As “tablet” are becoming popular, it looks like “netbook” has come to the end of life. Hercules is trying to revitalize the netbook market by launching two slim eCAFE netbooks, the Slim HD and the EX HD. Both of them are powered by ARM Cortex A8 processor with 512 MB of memory.

Asus introduces two new netbooks, the Eee PC 1015B and Eee PC 1215B, powered by AMD’s dual-core processor. The 10.1-inch 1015B is powered by AMD’s Fusion single-core C30 or dual-core C50 Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) with Radeon HD6250 graphics and up to 2GB of RAM; and the 12.1-inch 1215B packs choice of C30, C50 and E350 Fusion processors with either Radeon HD6250 or HD6310 video chip and up to 4GB of memory.

Acer introduces the Aspire One 522 netbook powered by AMD’s Fusion C-50 Accelerated Processing Unit (APU). The 10.1-inch netbook comes with a 1280×720 LED-backlit LCD display and supports WiFi, optional Bluetooth and optional 3G connectivity.
The Aspire One 522 is equipped with AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics supporting DirectX 11 and Full HD 1080p output via HDMI. It packs 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB 5400RPM hard drive, multi-in-one card reader and built-in speaker. Other features include Crystal Eye webcam, multi-gesture touchpad and digital microphone.

Clover introduces the SunBook, the first sunlight readable netbook with a screen that is viewable in all lighting conditions, from direct sunlight to total darkness. Powered by Intel’s Atom N450 1.66Ghz, the SunBook packs 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive. It has a 10.1-inch 1024×600 resolution display with white LED backlight.

Toshiba mini NB505
Toshiba introduces its all new mini NB505 and updated mini NB305 netbooks with new styling. The former is topped with Toshiba’s new rubberized EasyGrip Finish on the cover that makes it easier to carry, while also reducing fingerprints and a flat keyboard with Black textured finish on the inside; while the latter gets a sturdy Aluminum cover.

Gigabyte unveils a new dual-core netbook, the Q2005 powered by Intel’s Atom N550 dual core processor. The 10.1-inch netbook has 1GB/2GB of DDR3 memory, integrated Intel GMA150 graphics and up to 500GB hard drive. The Q2005 has a 10.1-inch 1024×600 LED-backlit LCD display.
