The Video Game Awards have just ended with a bang and was easily the best one yet. A lot of new trailers were revealed and the new “Augmented Reality” feature that they added to the show which put floating holograms and screens throughout the show.
The augmented reality feature was cool to viewers at home to see, but I’m unsure if the people actually at the VGAs were able to see them. It felt almost like a scene out of Minority Report and was a cool little add-on. Seeing blockbuster titles like Halo: Reach or Call of Duty: Black Ops in this three dimensional view really

Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer was recently addressing an audience at the London School of Economics and the most interesting part of his speech was Windows 7 tablets. Ballmer mentioned that the tablets powered by the ‘best ever’ Microsoft OS will be seen this Christmas. It is confusing whether these tablets would be merely announced or retailed in the holiday season and Ballmer’s statement doesn’t clarify this doubt
Ballmer did sound confident about the tablet development, but again, there is no clarification as to who will eventually end up manufacturing Windows 7

Not a long while ago, AT&T was probably the most talked about brand, in part because of its Apple affinity, but Big Red is certainly the wave now. Verizon owes it to brands like HTC, Motorola and Samsung who put the Android OS to great use, eventually making their brand look better.
Verizon is parading the Android field with better and better soldiers — one of which is the HTC Droid Incredible HD.
The HD version of the Droid Incredible from HTC is an even better package, reason for Verizon to hold its release for a few more. The US carrier has

Call of Duty has been a marathon gaming franchise for Activision which began on a PC and expanded to gaming consoles and what not. Over the years, numerous new titles have arrived for the game and most of them have succeeded in pleasing the fanatics. What is customary is that these avid gamers have had their share of problems with the titles and the most common complaints have been the lack of support for community modifications and dedicated servers.
Activision certainly looks in the mood to do all wrongs right with the next gaming title, Black Ops. What we’ve already

Orange UK has this thing for whitish smartphones and it likes to sell the white models exclusively time and again for different smartphone models. Sometime back, Orange roped in the Sony Xperia X10 exclusively in a whitish tinge to please its loyal customers and now we are constantly hearing talks of the White iPhone 4 arrival in Orange UK stores.
It was the Inquirer which last discovered that the White iPhone 4 will not arrive at the end of the year but sometime later this year and now the same concern has got in touch with Orange UK again to extract some information.

A whole lot of info just landed over at the guys at BGR from a source at Verizon Wireless and it details almost all of the wireless giant’s plans for 2010, 2011 and even 2012. The tips include info about a 1.3GHz smartphone, multiple tablet devices and LTE handsets and mobile hotspots. Interestingly, and possibly disappointing the iPhone fans, there is no mention of a CDMA iPhone in the roadmap.
The flagship device mentioned is the Motorola DROID PRO, which is supposedly a 4 inch Android device with a 1.3GHz processor and global radio. It is apparently launching this

Valve, developers of the hit franchise Half-Life, haven’t been saying much lately, but a rumor is going around that is sure to disappoint a lot of fans – apparently, the last installment in the Half-Life 2 Episodes trilogy will not be released this year. It’s not known whether we’ll at least see some media beforehand either, but knowing Valve, they’ll probably keep it all a secret until the last moment.
After the release of Half-Life 2, Valve decided to expand the series before releasing Half-Life 3, and started working on three episodic

Some interesting tidbits came out of Motorola’s DEXT launch in Singapore today — CNET Asia had a chance to sit down with Moto’s Asia Pacific VP Spiro Nikolakopoulos, who said that the company would launch between 20 to 30 Android phones globally in 2010. Spiro also said that not every phone would make it to every market, so we’re guessing the true number will be more like 10 if you count regional variants like the CLIQ and the DEXT as one model. Just by our count, Moto’s already pretty close: off the tops of our heads we’ve heard of the Shadow,
