Japanese carrier KDDI au is going to launch this Winter Sharp‘s new AQUOS Pad SHT21, the world’s first tablet to feature Sharp’s IGZO LCD touchscreen display. Thanks to the low-power consumption of IGZO display, Sharp said that the tablet can run 2.5 times longer than tablets with conventional displays. The 7-inch IGZO touch display features WXGA 1280×768 resolution and 16.7 million colors. A stylus is included for drawing and taking notes easily and precisely.

Playing games on Android phones and tablets is nothing new, but most of time you has to play on the touchscreen. Not many Android devices on the market has integrated physical gaming button. Sony has the first attempt with the Xperia Play PlayStation phone with sliding gamepad, and here comes Archos‘ new GamePad 7-inch Android gaming tablet.

French company Lexibook is launching its Android-based education tablet for kids in the US market. Intended for education, the Lexibook tablet comes pre-loaded with School Zone apps, 200 e-books, 25 games and 52 discovery activities. Kids and parents can also download education apps and games from the Lexibook Market. There are also Lexibook Videostore by Kabillion and Spotify for access to cartoons, music, and other multimedia content.

Lenovo officially announced three new Android tablets for the US market, including the IdeaTab S2110 and the IdeaTab A2107 and A2109 that has been mentioned before. All three slim tablets come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The S2110 is one of the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablets, measuring 8.69mm thin and weighs only 580g.

Getac, maker of rugged computing devices, introduces its new Z710 that Getac said is the world’s most rugged Android tablet for use in extreme work environments. The Z710 meets MIL-STD 810G / IP65 rating for dust and liquid resistance, shockproof to withstand drops up to six feet and ability to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -4° F to 122° F. Alcatel launches a new 7-inch Android tablet, the One Touch T10. Powered by Rockchip RK2918 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and 1GB of RAM, the tablet runs Android 4.0.3 operating system. Its 7-inch touchscreen has 800×480 resolution and there is a 0.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.
The T10 supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n and has 4GB internal storage and a microSD/SDHC card slot. Priced at Euro 120, you just can’t expect much from this One Touch tablet.

Samsung introduces its latest addition to its tablet line, the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) that serves as the successor to the original 7-inch Galaxy Tab model. Powered by a 1GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM, the Galaxy Tab 2 is the company’s first Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0-powered tablet.
