During the CES 2012, Verizon Wireless showed the upcoming LG Spectrum LTE 4G smartphone with a 4.5-inch Ture HD IPS touchscreen with 1280×720 and 329ppi screen density. The new phone supports Verizon’s LTE 4G mobile network and gives users access to the ESPN ScoreCenter application for ScoreCenter stats, images and videos in 720p HD. Its screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

ZTE announced at the MWC 2012 its new HD touchscreen smartphone, the PF112 with a large 4.5-inch 1280×720 HD touchscreen display. Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8260A Krait dual-core processor and 1GB RAM, the new handset runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 8 Megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash, HD video recording, Smile Recognition, HDR Exposure bracketing. There is also a 720p front-facing camera for video calls.

The powerful smartphone is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor featuring the unique 4-PLUS-1 design for high-level multimedia performance that utilizes a fifth batterysaver core to handle less demanding tasks such as active standby and music playback. AT&T launches its third 4G LTE smartphone, the LG Nitro HD which is the carrier’s first smartphone to has a true HD screen. The new Nitro HD comes with a 4.5-inch True HD AH-IPS (Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching) touchscreen with 1280×720 HD resolution (ie.329ppi) and 500 nit brightness. Some details of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming Xperia SO-02D Android phone for NTT DoCoMo has been leaked. Codenamed NOZOMI, the SO-02D is an Android 2.3 smartphone coming in November this year. It is suggested that the device will has a 4.3-inch 1280x720p touchscreen.
