Acer launches in Europe market its Touch LCD T231H touchscreen LCD monitor, the successor to the T230H, which allows touch control using your fingers. This 23-inch touchscreen display features an ergonomic, height-adjustable stand that allows the working angle to be adjusted from 5-degree to 60-degree to ensure the maximum comfort.

Acer is going to bring the ultra slim S1 series LED-backlit LCD display to the US market. The new S1 series has an eco-friendly, space-conscious design and is just 13mm-15mm thick. The line includes 20-inch S201H, 21.5-inch S211HL and 23-inch S231HL models.
All three models feature 12,000,000:1 contrast ratio via Acer Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM), 5ms response time, 250 cd/m2 brightness and 16.7M colors. The S211HL and S231HL will offer 1920×1080 resolution. They have VGA port or DVI port with HDCP inputs and the 23-inch model offers also HDMI.

Acer launches two new DLP projectors in Japan, the P1100C and the P1200B, both include USB display connectivity. Simply connect the projectors to PC via USB connection, content can then be projected for viewing.
The Acer P1100C features 800×600 resolution, 4000:1 contrast ratio while the P1200B offers 1024×768 resolution, 3700:1 contrast ratio. They both have 2600 ANSI lumens and offer 2 USB port, D-sub, S-video, composite inputs. The P1200B adds HDMI.
Acer P1100C and P1200B will be released on 4 August for 60,000 Yen and 80,000 Yen respectively.

Acer is launching the new M0 series LCD TV monitors, including the 19-inch M190HQDL, 20-inch M200HDL, M200HML and 23-inch M230HDL, M230HML. The M0 series features LED-backlight, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and comes with built-in digital TV tuner and speakers.
The 19-inch M190HQDL model offers 1366×768 resolution while the 20-inch and 23-inch models provide 1600×900 and 1920×1080 resolution respectively. You can expect HDMI, D-sub, component and SCART inputs. The M0 line has a glossy black finish. The price ranges from Euro 210 to Euro 319.

Acer brings the two new 3D-ready projectors, the X1261 and X1130P, to Canada. Both models feature DLP 3D projection capabilities and are able to deliver 3D viewing experience when combined with NVIDIA 3D Vision technology (sold separately) and a 3D Vision compatible computer.

Acer launches in Europe market the G5 Series LCD displays. Available in 24-inch, 23-inch, 22-inch, 20-inch and 19-inch screen sizes, the G5 offers up to 1920x1080p Full HD resolution. Acer’s monitor also feature 80,000:1 contrast ratio and improved response time with Overdrive (OD) technology that enhances the moving picture experience.

Acer announced the new 23.6-inch GD235HZ-bid Full HD 3D LCD display designed to provide 3D viewing experience, when combined with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology. The GD235HZ, similar to Alienware’s offering, features 1920×1080 Full HD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1000:1 native contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness, 2ms response time and 170/160-degree viewing angle.

Acer pulled closer to HP than ever in the third quarter of 2009, when it shipped 8.86 million laptops compared to HP’s 9.91 million, but it looks like things swung well back in the other direction during the fourth quarter. No, not that sensor sensitivity nonsense again, rather, just a plain ol’ video playback comparison for your subjective observations. While the economy has been bad consumers have still been buying and replacing computers. Rather than buying the expensive notebooks that they might have went for in years past, many consumers looked to cheap netbooks for computers.
Research firm StrategyAnalytics reports that netbook shipments in 2009 boomed with a total of 30.2 million units shipped globally. That number is a 79% growth compared to the previous year’s netbook shipments.
