Motorola is launching in Taiwan the XT615 Android smartphone that measures just 9.8mm thin. The phone is boosted by a 800MHz processor with 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with MOTO Switch UI 2.0 that learns who you talk to and which apps you use and keeps all of that information front and center. The XT615 has a 4-inch 480×854 touchscreen display, a 8 Megapixel camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera.

Verizon Wireless is launching the Samsung Illusion, a mid-range Android smartphone. Boosted by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, the phone is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with Swype quick input technology. It comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity.

Motorola and Sprint introduce the ADMIRAL, the first Android smartphone with Sprint Direct Connect. The ADMIRAL is a bar-type device with QWERTY keyboard for easy text input. It is powered by 1.2GHz processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. It use the Sprint 3G (EVDO Rev. A) network to provide the gold-standard push-to-talk capabilities of Sprint Direct Connect.

Google and Samsung has announced the Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Virgin Mobile adds to the LG Optimus Slider to its Android lineup. The new phone has a full QWERTY keyboard for easy text input, a 3.2-inch touchscreen and a 3.2 Megapixel camera. The Optimus Slider supports Bluetooth 3.0 and has microSD card slot.

AT&T announced the Pantech Pocket, a slim Android smartphone with a unique form factor. The phone has a 4-inch 800×600 touchscreen, instead of 800×480 found on most Android phones, making it wider and shorter. It runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread on a 1GHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM.
The Pantech Pocket features a 5 Megapixel camera with flash and HD video recording, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and a microSD slot for expansion. It has 600MB internal memory.

As the follow-up to the Captivate, AT&T and Samsung are planning to launch the new Captivate Glide Android smartphone with side-slide QWERTY keyboard. LG announced in Korea its new Optimus Q2 Android slider with full QWERTY keyboard. The dual-core device runs Android 2.3 and will be available in South Korea next week. It is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Tegra 2 processor.
The Optimus Q2 comes with a 4-inch IPS LCD touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel main camera, a VGA front camera and Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.

AT&T launches the Huawei Impulse 4G Android smartphone, which is the carrier’s first smartphone from Huawei. Though with 4G in its name, the phone doesn’t support 4G LTE network but quad-band HSPA network with up to 14.4Mbps. It is powered by Qualcomm MSM7230 with Scorpion 800MHz processor.
