Following the S1 and S2, Sony is back to the tablet market using the Xperia brand, introducing the Xperia Tablet S. Measuring 9.2mm slim, the tablet has a slim and light alumimum body. Like the S1, has a off-center of gravity design for stability and ease of grip. The new Xperia tablet keeps the IR sensor and doubles as a univeral remote control, allowing users to turn on/off and control their home media devices including HDTV, Blu-ray player and audio system. It comes with a splash proof design and an IPX4 splashproof rating to withstand splashing water at all angles.

Sprint is going to release on 11 November the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, its first 4G LTE tablet. It can be activated with one of the 3G/4G LTE month-to-month tablet rate plans starting from $14.99 for 300MB of data. The 4G-capable tablet is powered by a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Asus is going to release in Germany and Austria its Transformer Pad TF300TL, the LTE version of the TF300. As you may know, the Transformer Pad is an Android tablet that can be turned into a netbook with the optional keyboard docking station. The LTE 4G edition is powered by the same NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 1.2GHz processor and integrated 12-core GeForce graphics chip. It gets 1GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage.

Playing games on Android phones and tablets is nothing new, but most of time you has to play on the touchscreen. Not many Android devices on the market has integrated physical gaming button. Sony has the first attempt with the Xperia Play PlayStation phone with sliding gamepad, and here comes Archos‘ new GamePad 7-inch Android gaming tablet.

French company Lexibook is launching its Android-based education tablet for kids in the US market. Intended for education, the Lexibook tablet comes pre-loaded with School Zone apps, 200 e-books, 25 games and 52 discovery activities. Kids and parents can also download education apps and games from the Lexibook Market. There are also Lexibook Videostore by Kabillion and Spotify for access to cartoons, music, and other multimedia content.

Asus officially announced in Taiwan its new PadFone 2 system that includes a quad-core LTE smartphone and a tablet. As the follow-up to the original PadFone, the phone is not more powerful while the tablet has been completely redesigned to has a slimmer form factor. The PadFone 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s SnapDragon S4 quad-core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Lenovo officially announced three new Android tablets for the US market, including the IdeaTab S2110 and the IdeaTab A2107 and A2109 that has been mentioned before. All three slim tablets come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The S2110 is one of the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablets, measuring 8.69mm thin and weighs only 580g.
