| We’ve been touting Google for its Android success where the OS has overtaken the likes of Apple and BlackBerry (though the success isn’t largely getting converted into monetary value), but Google also has had its problems. We are in no mood to talk about the Chinese ban, instead, we desire to focus on projects like the Wave and Buzz.Google has still enjoyed decent appreciation for its Buzz feature, but Wave has been an outright flop an year after its Beta version was released. Wave, for those of you who do not remember, was a collaborative tool designed to be a cross

| It was almost an year back that we first managed to lay our hands on some of the images of the upcoming Mozilla Firefox 4.0. With the official release of the Beta 1.0 version of Firefox 4.0 now outed to the public, it can now be said that there is a close similarity between what we see now and an year back. It was basically about the chrome-inspired design and Mozilla has stayed true to that design with the new tabs shifted above the address bar. However, it is not just the design changes that have been reflected in the first Beta release, Mozilla is offering a world of new

| At this years E3 Jack Trenton announced that there would be an Assassins Creed multiplayer beta coming this year. He wasn’t lying. The beta is set to release on September 13th. There is one little catch though.First you have to be located in North America. Which is unfortunate for the rest of the planet. If you want to participate in the Assassins Creed: Brotherhood beta, you also have to pre-order the game from your local Game Stop. Unlike other betas that allow everyone who pre-orders the game to get in, this beta has a limited number of slots available, which is not fair

The current beta update version includes the previous updates for Windows, Windows 7 as well as updates for the Windows Server 2008 R2 platform. The customers seeking the Service Pack One update should however ensure that they are using the RTM version of either OS, as the update only caters to this specific set. We've now pretty much reached saturation point with OnLive demos, so it's good to finally see an independent set of eyes poring over the service and giving us the lowdown on the actual user experience. Whether you call it on demand, streamed, or cloud gaming, the concept is remarkably simple -- OnLive pumps games via a web browser onto your machine and gives you the full gaming experience without the need for all that pretty, but expensive hardware. PC Perspective's Ryan Shrout "found" a login to the Beta program and has put together a very thorough comparison between

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has launched a beta version of Ovi Store for the N900. It’s not a client app at this point, but a mobile website, which you can access from store.ovi.mobi. Once you click on the “Download” link, Application Manager will open and take it from there.Among the apps we find are such must-have titles as Documents To Go (mobile office suite), Evernote Sharing Plugin (my favorite note taking tool), Foreca Weather and Facebook. There are also other apps you could try, but

| Boxee has made its new user interface design official and it does look very good. From what we can see, it looks well thought-out as well. The global menu leads you quickly to the most accessed features and the social aspect (recommendations and so on...) is very readable on the left. The other important element, the queue, is updated on the right. The movie library that mixes local and internet content seems quite convenient.Behind the scenes, the support for hardware acceleration is there and Boxee is now using DirectX and DXVA (in
