Not sure why we've been putting this off, but we'll just come right out and say it: there's no doubt that this was the year for 3D at CES. We walked the show floor for countless hours and can tell you that just about everyone was showing something related to 3D at their booths. Most of these demos required a bit of a wait to experience them (thanks, hype), and everywhere you went people were talking about 3D. Granted, not all of that talk was positive, but it was talk nonetheless. Whether or not the technology will be seen in history as a success in the market place is

We’re still coping with all the CES news…

Jabra, the famous Bluetooth accessory maker, has used the event to unveil the EXTREME headset and the CRUISER speakerphone. The first of the two comes with the company’s Noise Blackout Extreme technology that combines two microphones, digital signal processing (DSP) and automatic volume control to reduce background noises by as much as 24 decibels.

The other product, also powered by the Noise Blackout

LEGO had a fairly decent-sized booth at this year’s CES showing off their slightly-delayed LEGO Universe game which will finally be released sometime this year. And sure, playing around in their bricktastic online MMOG was fun, but LEGO, you had me at “Build your own minifig!” And let me say thanks for not strictly enforcing that “One minifig per person” limit.

These days buying music and putting it on your MP3 player of choice is a pretty simple task. Unfortunately for some of the older generation, even that can seem like a daunting task. Instead they’d perhaps just prefer to listen to the radio. Well if you’re looking to bring them into the age of MP3 players without scaring them too much, here is an interesting device that I saw while roaming the floor of CES.

Myine has created a rather curious radio called the Abbee, which is essentially used to record music. At its very basics, it

It’s impossible for any single news organization to cover everything shown at CES, but thankfully The Onion has distilled the show down to a brief highlight list covering some of the more important reveals and announcements made this year.

And oddly enough, RCA’s Airnergy Charger almost seems like it belongs on this list too.

Android is literally in everything. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it show up in a teapot next. Anyhow, this GL-750 netbook was spotted at CES 2010 running the Google Android operating system. It comes from Taiwanese PC maker King Yung.

You get a 533MHz Freescale iMX31 ARM11-based processor along with 128MB RAM and up to 16GB of flash storage. Aside from Android, you can also get it with Windows CE or a lightweight Linux distro built on a 2.6.x kernel.

They are likely looking for a US distributor. Good luck.

Ebook readers are the big this at CES this year. You can take a step without running into one of those. Now here is another new introduction to the field. It is KNFB’s new Blio ebook reader software and platform for Mac and PC which seems to be touting the fact that you don’t need fancy hardware to read a printed page on a screen. This new software approaches digital reading in a whole new way. Blio tends to preserve the looks of a traditional book or magazine format and layout including the fonts, images etc. and also includes digital

iPhone cases were everywhere at CES this year. You couldn’t go past more than a few booths without someone showing off their latest designs. Most cases were similar to others on the market, but with a different pattern, or a slightly different feel. It was always a refreshment to see something that actually brought something new to the world of iPhone cases. One in particular from Case-Mate caught my eye as I was exploring their booth.

Here in Vegas there is little reason to carry around a bulky wallet. I don’t need all of the

There was a time not all that long ago where Mad Catz was a brand associated with cheap gaming accessories that no one really cared all that much about. After the acquisition of Saitek, the company really turned things around. I had the pleasure of checking out their latest line of products, each one a quality piece of hardware. In fact, the first one I’m going to show you isn’t even related to gaming.

We’ve seen a number of solutions for controlling your living room PC and Mad Catz has their own. Under the Eclipse brand, the

PC gamers such as myself are always big on customizing our keyboards and mice. Generally that means mapping keys to specific functions and adjusting the sensitivity of the mouse. However, when given the ability, we love to take the customization to a higher level. In the past we’ve seen mice that have adjustable weights, which can make a difference.  However, Mad Catz has raised the bar when it comes to mouse customization with their new line of Cyborg R.A.T. mice.

The Cyborg R.A.T mouse is one of the craziest looking peripherals that
