Verizon has released a software update for the Samsung Continuum handset. As you might know, the handset launched with Android 2.1 and there have been rumors that the device will be getting Android 2.2. But unfortunately, the current update is not Froyo.
The present update to the Continuum handset, which comes equipped with the 3.4 inch Super AMOLED display along with the secondary 1.8 inch Ticker Display, is bringing enhancements, improvements and bug fixes.
The update, which will bring the software up to i400.DL17, solves some issues, improves Visual Voice Mail functionality,

Samsung officially announced its Continuum, a Galaxy S smartphone for Verizon Wireless. The Continuum is the world’s first smartphone to have a dedicated ticket display which provides users with up-to-the-minute news, sports, finance and social networking updates for maximized multitasking.
The Samsung Continuum (model SCH-I400) comes with a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED main touchscreen display and a 1.8-inch Interactive Super AMOLED ticker display. It is powered by a 1GHz Samsung Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. The phone has a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p HD video

Samsung mobile has indeed sent out invites for an event on November 8 where it will announce an upcoming Android Device. So what exactly does Samsung have under the wraps? More importantly, how well does it have the device under wraps? Will we get to know what the Android ‘Device’ is even before November 8? Well, all that we know for now is that Samsung has invited all to the November 8 and has something ‘android’ planned. It is not certain that we are even talking about a mobile. You might know that Verizon has plans to introduce a CDMA version of the iPhone next year and the carrier is also expected to launch a number of devices (includes the Droid 2 Global, the Droid Pro and other much-anticipated devices) on November 11. Now, a new rumor is suggesting that the Samsung Continuum and the LG Vortex could be on its way to Verizon as soon as October 29th.

Earlier, some leaked blurry pictures of the Samsung Continuum (Verizon’s next Galaxy S handset) were circulating online. Now, new pictures of the device have surfaced and they give us an opportunity to take a good look at the device which comes with dual screens.
Just now, we had reported about a Verizon roadmap leak which showed the list of the carrier’s smartphone and tablet offerings for the coming months. The Samsung Continuum was spotted in the list, obviously, and the phone will be arriving in late October.

A new Verizon roadmap has surfaced and it provides a colorful picture of the carrier’s tablet and smartphone plans for the coming months. The leak suggests that one of the main offerings from the carrier will be the Motorola Stingray tablet.
According to the leak, the Motorola Stingray will be arriving sometime in the first quarter of 2011. Earlier it was thought that the Stingray would be a smaller tablet, but the new leak reveals that it will be a bigger one coming equipped with a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen (with multi-touch support) and Android 3.0 Gingerbread.
