Vizio has started shipping its XVT3D650SV 65-inch 3D TV, which is the company’s largest 3D-capable TV. The new TV has been listed at the Vizio website where it is having a price tag of $3,700. But it is expected that it will likely be priced at $3,500 eventually.
The new TV features Edge Lit Razor LED backlighting with Smart Dimming, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1080p Full HD and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. This superb HDTV also renders both 2D and 3D with amazing clarity, color and contrast.

Viewsonic has unveiled a new 3D monitor, the V3D241wm-LED monitor. The monitor, which has been certified by AMD for use with its Radeon range of graphics cards, will give you the opportunity to watch 3D content in full HD.
The 24-inch LED-backlit monitor comes bundled with a pair of active 3D glasses and runs at 1920×1080 Full HD resolution. The monitor can display 3D games and movies without any loss of quality by taking advantage of its 120Hz frame rate and ultra-fast 2ms response time.
The LED screen has a brightness level of 300 nits and a contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1,

Samsung has announced the PN50C490 3D Plasma TV, the cheapest 3D HDTV in the market, along with two other 3D Plasmas which comes with a higher price tag. The company also showed off the first portable 3D Blu-ray Player and the largest 3D LED-backlit HDTV.
The 50-inch PN50C490, which costs $1,099.99 (list price), has a 720p resolution and 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It also comes equipped with a USB socket, three HDMI inputs, and a pair of component jacks, and of course support for 3D.

Our TVs have come a long way, but they can still be pushed further. A Japanese company called Zeon is doing the pushing with a film it has developed for the polarizing plates of LCD screens, which would boost picture contrast quite a bit.
This phase difference film is created from Cyclo Olefin Polymer, which makes it suitable for LCD TVs based on in-plane-switching (IPS) technology, which is used by companies like Panasonic or Hitachi. We’ve harped about manufacturers constantly pushing nearly useless dynamic contrast numbers on us for so long that we half-expected this announcement to be about some phantom billion to one number. Well done Samsung, then, for focusing on the static (or real) contrast ratio of 3,000:1 on its sparkling new F2370H and F2380MX 23-inchers. These are certainly not the first panels to reach that plateau (check the Prad link below showing the Eizo EV2333 achieving 5,000:1 in testing), but let’s not argue over PR semantics.
