Intel announced its third generation solid state drives, the SSD 320 series based on 25nm NAND flash memory. Built on X25-M SATA SSD and based on 25nm NAND, the SSD 320 Series delivers more performance and uniquely architected reliability features while costing 30% less compare to current generation.

A billion dollar deal could be on the horizon as web software security firm ‘Websense’ is reportedly in the plans of putting the company up for sale. Reports suggest that the company approached with the aid of investment bank Qatalyst Partners in an attempt to facilitate the process and get the best deal possible.

Intel announced its new SSD 510 series solid state drive with 6Gbps SATA interface. According to Intel, the new SSD outperforms 10,000 RPM HDDs by 50 percent. With 6Gbps SATA, the SSD 510 provides a sequential read speeds at up to 315MB/s, more than triples the sequential write speeds of Intel’s current 3Gbps SSDs.
Intel’s new 6Gbps SSD utilizes the company’s 34-nanometer NAND flash memory and comes in 120GB and 250GB capacities, which are priced at $584 and $284, for 1000 units quantities.

It appears that the much hailed new processor from Intel, the Sandy Bridge, has encountered a serious kind of problem. The manufacturer has confirmed a problematic bug in the Cougar Point chipset. This in turn has resulted in the delay of the shipment of desktop PCs that use the Sandy Bridge processors.

Come February, and the Dell Inspiron Duo convertible hybrid netbook/tablet will hop on to the Three network in the UK. News on tablets seldom seem to end. In an already crowded market where so many slates waiting to debut, Acer too is pushing two of its upcoming devices. The company is now ready to roll out at least three of their tablet devices by the middle of the current year.
