Ectaco has released its jetBook Lite e-book reader at the Frankfurt Book Fair in New York, where this device will tip the scales at 7.5 ounces while coming with a 5" TFT monochrome display from Toshiba. You get 100MB of internal memory with this that can be further augmented thanks to an SD memory card slot. Samsung rename its upcoming Galaxy Lite i5700 Android smartphone as the Spica. The Spica, as the codename Galaxy Lite suggests, is a lite version of the Samsung Galaxy i7500. Spica has a smaller 3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a 3.2 Megapixel auto focus camera, GPS, and HSDPA support.

For some reason I always associate dial-up connections with Grandmas.  I actually know somebody’s Grandma that has a FaceBook account.  All ignorance aside, FaceBook Lite is now available worldwide for those out there who wanna stay connected with family and friends but have a less than stellar internet connection.

FaceBook Lite was in Beta testing all last month and as of yesterday became a legit site ready for public consumption.  Encompassing a more streamlined structure (sans 3rd-party applications)

According to the Wi-Fi certification channel, Samsung has submitted the i5700, which it is calling the Galaxy-Lite.

We can only assume it will be running Android, although it would make a lot of sense. However, it's also possible that Samsung's less powerful TouchWiz UI could be plonked on top instead.

Thin on the ground

Things we know about it: it's from Samsung, it's a mobile phone and it has Wi-Fi. Things we don't know:
