Fancy a free laptop? These days there are stacks of great free laptop deals available with mobile phone contracts - something you'd have forked out for anyway.
Ever desperate to sign-up new customers, mobile phone companies have offered free gifts for a while. But rather than a free headset or charger, recent times have seen a plethora of more expensive gifts such as free Xbox, Wii or PlayStation 3 deals. And, of course, there are also many free laptop with mobile contract deals around.
These free laptop offers need not cost you the Earth. You

Samsung's first effort at an Android-based mobile phone might not have debuted in the UK, but that hasn't stopped the i7500 Galaxy appearing in white ahead of the launch.
The specs of the phone remain the same, meaning we're sadly not seeing the i5700 Galaxy Lite phone Samsung seems to be releasing soon.
But that does mean if you're giddy with excitement over Samsung and Google joining forces but not a fan of black (and we all know it's about the graphite or mocha or whatever other fancy colours manufacturers are after these days) then this picture

It's been years in the hyping, but Toshiba's long awaited direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) for gadgets could be arriving shortly.
Network World is reporting that the company's new chairman is promising to launch an external fuel cell charger before the end of September.
The universal charger will be able to recharge a range of devices, including media players, mobile phones and handheld gamers.
Hard cell
This charger was initially planned to launch in March this year, and no reason for the delayed launch has been given.

Orange has had a look at the Welsh-speaking community and decided it needs a phone of its very own, so has launched the Samsung S6500 with Welsh language on board.
This means 44,000 words in the dictionary for easier predictive texting, as well as menus re-calibrated to look just wrong to someone that doesn't speak Welsh.
Coming only on Orange, the Welsh-friendly handset will be available from 1 September, and we assume Orange has decent network coverage in the Welsh mountains.

A new phone with a 12MP sensor and 3x optical zoom has emerged from Altek to rival efforts forthcoming from Sony Ericsson, LG and Samsung.
And on the basis of specs, it beats them hands down, with a digital zoom on board (something not seen since Samsung attempted it on the G800 all those years ago).
The Altek T8680 is clearly taking photography seriously, by packing a separate processor inside for snapping on top of one for general phone-related actions.
There's a xenon flash, 800-3200 ISO settings and touch focus with smile and blink

Panasonic has unveiled its answer to the tough life of the DECT phone, with its KX-TG6481 landline offering ruggedised to cope with the daily rigours of the average handset.
The Panasonic KX-TG6481 has been designed to look good, but not break at the first sign of trouble – with Panasonic insisting that the handset is 'fully prepared to deal with an array of household dangers with no fuss'.
That includes being splashed with water, dropped, not dusted or dripped on, which only leaves five or six perils that TechRadar can think of.

After numerous leaks about the new Chocolate handset from LG, the company has finally admitted that the new BL40 is real.
It's been predictably sketchy on the details, but given the pictures and model number have all been confirmed, we can assume the rest of the stats we've gleaned from internet moles are also true.
That means a 4-inch full 21:9 VGA screen with a novel 800x345 display, for crisp video viewing without the bars above and below the movie.
Those that have got all excited over Philips' 21:9 TV recently will know the difference a

Tesco is offering a startling all you can eat deal for its mobile phone – giving unlimited texts, calls and even browsing for a flat £30 fee.
Although there is a fair usage fee of £500, which isn't translated into a data limit, it's a fine looking offer from the supermarket chain.
It's a sim only deal – meaning that people will have to provide their own handset, and Tesco is pitching it as the perfect answer to credit crunch induced worry over phone charges.
Unlimited-ish

HP has decided to tease the mobile phone buying public with a blast from the past - the stylus-toting iPAQ K3 Obsidian.
Featuring a full QWERTY keyboard a la une BlackBerry, the phone has a 2.43-inch OLED touchscreen too.
Sadly, it's only going to be a resistive QVGA effort, although at that size it's likely to not really matter, which is probably why a stylus has been thrown in as well.
More WinMo 6.5 fun
There's a 3.2MP camera (albeit sans flash on the back) and a 528MHz processor underneath chugging things

Archos MD for UK and Ireland Tony Limrick has told TechRadar how the forthcoming Android device from the PMP manufacturer is likely to look with both its own OS and Android running together.
In a recent interview he told us that the company wouldn't be compromising on screen size, and that in essence it will be "very similar to the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet with some changes" but that it will "also be slimmer than the Archos 5 series."
The new phone is likely to debut in September at another Archos press event, and the gadget
