A mobile phone running Google’s Android software along with a third party security app was recently stolen in Oregon and was able to fight back against it’s captors, getting itself home again. The Motorola Droid was stolen out of a couples home late at night along with a number of other electronic items and things of values.
Shortly after stealing the device the thieves snapped a few photos of themselves with the on-board camera which, unknown to them, were then uploaded to a server as part of a backup process that runs each night.

Never be caught out again with this ingenious concept coke mobile phone that runs on Coca-Cola drinks. Yes thats right, the bio battery in the phone generates its electricity from the carbohydrates (the sugar) in the Coke and uses enzymes as the catalyst to generate its power.
Bio batteries have been around a for decades and can produce 3 or 4 times the amount of energy a traditional lithium mobile phone battery can. Seems strange why this isn’t already a commercial

There have been speculations about the unveiling of the Google Nexus One Android powered smartphone today and the stance should be clear by 1 p.m. (New York time) because that is when the Android Press Gathering begins. A simple list of details will not please the onlookers for they are available all over the web and therefore a thorough unveiling is

It looks similar to a laptop, complete with a screen and a QWERTY keypad. He only difference you might notice is the size. It is tiny compared to even a netbook. We are talking of the new smartphone that has been lined up by Motorola. The company has had not much need to seek a name for the phone it seems. The properties it possesses has made the device to be called the Backflip. Motorola might start selling the new handset this March.

[CES 2010] Now this might be hot when it hits the market (hopefully) at the end of the year if Identity is able to find a mobile carrier (or carriers) as their partner(s). Touting to go up head-to-head against the iPhone, Identity hopes to price their MID phone at no more than $200 with a typical 2-year contractual agreement. It does look as though it comes with a full touchscreen display, although for those who are still uncomfortable with a virtual keyboard for typing emails and text messages, there is always the QWERTY

It seems like washing machines and microwaves aren’t the only devices that Google’s Android OS is getting into. While a desk phone certainly isn’t as weird a place to put Android as a washing machine, it’s still not something that everybody would do. But the folks at Touch Revolution certainly seem to believe that it will work, and thus they’ve come up with the Nimble. The phone sports a custom interface, designed by The Astonishing Tribe, the firm that conceived the original Android
