Canon brings a new rugged digital camera, the PowerShot D20 built for active photographers, which is the successor to the D10. The new D20 is waterproof to 33 feet (10 meters), shockproof to withstand up to 5.0 feet (1.5 meter) drop, temperature-resistant from 14°F to 104°F, and dustproof. It sports 12.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor, and features HS SYSTEM for enhanced low-light shooting performance.

Canon introduces two new long-zoom digital cameras, the PowerShot SX260 HS and the PowerShot SX240 HS. Both has a sleek and compact design, yet packs Canon’s 25mm wide angle 20x optical zoom lens with 4-stop optical Image Stabilizer. According to Canon, the new models are its slimmest 20x zoom camera. The SX260 comes with built-in GPS chip for tagging each picture with the local time and location it was taken automatically. The Map Utility software also lets you to view your journey on Google Maps.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 530 HS White
Canon announced for the US market two new PowerShot ELPH digital cameras, the flagship long-zoom ELPH 530 HS measuring just 0.78-inch thick and the ELPH 320 HS. Both models are equipped with WiFi connectivity allowing users to upload photos and videos to the Canon iMAGE GATEWAY online services or to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, directly from the camera.

In addition to the SX150 IS, Canon also introduces the PowerShot ELPH 510 HS (aka IXUS 1100 HS in Europe) and ELPH 310 HS (aka IXUS 230 HS in Europe) digital cameras with the HS SYSTEM that combines a 12.1-megapixel, high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor to enhance image quality in low-light settings. Canon brings a new 12x super-zoom digital camera, the PowerShot SX150 IS with 12x optical zoom with 28mm wide angle lens. Canon has just announced the new PowerShot SX230 HS, which is the company’s first GPS-equipped digital camera. The 12.1 Megapixel camera comes with a 14x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilizer and 28mm wide angle. With a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC 4 image processor, the SX230 HD includes Canon’s HS System, as you can see from the HS suffix, which is a technology used to enhance image quality in low-light situations without the need for a flash.
