Samsung is going to release in the US market its Galaxy Player 4 and Galaxy Player 5 Android-powered portable media players. Unveiled at the MWC 2011, the 4-inch and 5-inch Galaxy Players run Android 2.2 (upgradeable to Gingerbread 2.3) with Adobe Flash 10.1. They have a similar design as the company’s Galaxy S smartphone.

Samsung definitely likes taking on Apple and the products Cupertino builds.
The Samsung S and the Nexus S are two great rivals for the iPhone, their tablet, the Galaxy Tab is not far behind the iPad, but wait, they don’t have a mobile player to take on the iPod touch. Things are about to change as we’re hearing that the company will debut the Galaxy Player at CES in Las Vegas, next week.

If this was the entertainment business then Apple could be suing Samsung for ‘Gimmick Infringement’, but since this is the gadget world, they might just be suing for a stolen design. Of course, that is not going to happen and Samsung are going to vehemently deny that they are out to clone the iPhone 4. They will show the little play button in the middle which is a tiny square on the ‘slated for the future’ 4-inch Galaxy Player, while the one on the iPhone 4 is round… Clear case of original design from Samsung!!
That said, we are still looking forward to this 4-inch

Remember Samsung’s Galaxy player 50 YP-G50 Android-powered portable media player? After the break you can find Samsung’s promotion video of the player. As you may know, the Galaxy player is basically a Galaxy S phone sans the phone function. It is just like the iPod touch, getting most of the features on the Galaxy S, except the phone function, high quality camera and the big screen.
