It’s been quite a while since we started waiting for the Dell Streak to arrive on T-Mobile. The latest information that has trickled down from the T-Mobile stables in the form of a leak almost confirms that the carrier will be launching the Dell Streak 7 Android tablet on Groundhog Day – that is February 2nd.

Best Buy has confirmed that it will be providing customers with four exclusive handsets that will not be found at any other retail store. The devices that are arriving at its stores later this month include the HTC Surround, the Dell Streak, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the Samsung Fascinate.

We have good news for those of you who are the owners of the Dell Streak. Dell has announced that the Android 2.2 “Froyo” update for the Dell Streak is coming before the end of this year.

While Dell still haven’t announced the launch date of their upcoming Streak in the United States, they at least gave us some important information related to the device – namely its price. There’s also a special promotion on Dell’s website, which is running for the last day today, where if you register you’ll get priority access to ordering the phone.

AT&T has been rumored to make the Dell Streak available on its network from July 19 onwards. Though the carrier’s pricing for the device has not been revealed, the phone will be available as an unlocked device for $500.
The Dell Streak, which is a cross between a tablet and a smartphone, features a 5-inch WVGA display with 800×480 pixel resolution. It has Android 1.6 as its operating software, but it could also receive the Android2.2 update later.

Dell has mentioned on the US product page on its official website that its Streak device will become available for sale in the country in late July. The gadget, which is a cross between a tablet and a smartphone, was earlier rumored to launch in the US on the AT&T network on July 19.
The device, with a 5-inch WVGA screen and a resolution of 800×480 pixels, will pack a QSD 8250 Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm capable of clocking 1 GHz. It will run on Google’s Android platform, but it will only be available with version 1.6 of the operating during its launch.
