DIY kit turns diggers into robots

Robots get all the fun jobs. Not only do they get to be firefighters, scuba divers, racing car drivers and even play World of Warcraft, now they get to drive diggers, too. Defence company QinetiQ has just developed a kit that can turn Bobcat loaders into fully functioning robots in just 15 minutes. Samsung’s i7500 phone turns up in white

Samsung’s first effort at an Android-based mobile phone might not have debuted in the UK, but that hasn’t stopped the i7500 Galaxy appearing in white ahead of the launch. The specs of the phone remain the same, meaning we’re sadly not seeing the i5700 Galaxy Lite phone Samsung seems to be releasing soon. 3′s portable modem turns 3G into Wi-Fi

3 has launched what it believes is the next generation in Wi-fi routers – portable devices that turn a 3G signal into Wi-Fi for all to enjoy. The MiFi device is smaller than most mobile phones, measuring just 86 x 45 x 10mm and allows you to create a personal internet connection. This means multiple PCs can enjoy the mobile broadband speeds, and also Wi-Fi only devices can connect up too. Nissan turns over a new electric Leaf

Yesterday, Nissan unveiled the Leaf, an all-electric hatchback with a range of 100 miles between charges. Its lithium ion batteries will be able to recharged to 80 per cent of capacity within half an hour, using high-speed chargers at petrol stations and car parks, or in around eight hours at home. The car is expected to go on sale late next year, with a mass-market roll-out in Europe, the USA and Japan during 2012. Sony turns Tube train into travelling cinema

Sony has officially announced the UK launch of the new X-Series Walkman this week, the first to feature a touchscreen display, OLED screen and the built in digital noise-cancelling technology.
