Do you remember the “superboot” image that rooted Google’s Nexus phone a few days ago? Well, according to the Twitter account of the person who came up with the trick, it might not work on the version of the phones that are being shipped – bummer. Of course, if you’re really desperate, you could hang on the “probably” that he mentioned, but let’s not place too much hope on that, shall we? The good thing is that the Android community is rather active, and with the excitement around the Nexus

Novelty mice are all fine and good, but most of them don’t really appeal to me. The typical novelty mouse isn’t very easy to use either. Road Mice has announced a new line of mice that look like popular cars.
You can get the mice in the shape of several really cool cars. You can get a Shelby GT500, Lamborghini, Challenger, Dodge Viper and more. The mice connect to Mac or Windows computers via USB.
When plugged in the headlights of the car glow. The top of the cars roof has two buttons and the scroll wheel is on the hood of the car. I’m not sure how ergonomic

Douwe Egberts wants you to work for your coffee. They think that consumers would like to interact more with machines so they are creating a coffee machine that can interact with consumers through simple games.
BeMoved can be operated using a large touchscreen, or with a motion sensitive camera. Users will be able to drag and drop virtual ingredients into the cup, explore more info about coffee and even check out the news. Last year InFocus released their Work Big IN1102 projector. This model features 2200 ANSI lumens, an 1800:1 contrast ratio, and WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. Recently, this projector found it way to PC World for a complete review. The writers were delighted when they powered this projector up. The high brightness and widescreen resolution makes it an ideal choice for both home theater and business purposes. The image quality was by far one of the best. The projector displayed clear, crisp images and was able to handle motion scenes with no trouble. The writer was also pleased

Suck at Photoshop? No problem. PhotoSketch is a web program that will let you make a rough, labeled sketch and magically turn it into a Photoshopped image. Your lame skills are no longer a problem.
How does it work? It searches the web for images that correspond to the shape and label you’ve drawn, then it puts them all together into an image. It isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty impressive and is sure to only get better.
So go ahead and create some Photoshop masterpieces.

Like to take pictures? Like to punch things? Then this is the camera for you. This camera will make you like Mr T, meaning that when you punch things, you get results. Sucka. The Punch camera takes regular digital images, but allows its users to punch a rasterized image of their photo.
The punched image also has information which can connect its users to the digital gallery. According to the creator, “This is a camera which was inspired by the loss of tangible memories. It is meant to connect both physical and digital while minimizing excess materials and the hardships

With eco-friendliness on everyone’s mind, it’s no shock to see more and more progress being made in the realm of solar. Shortly after hearing that boffins across the way were swapping carbon nanotubes for silicon, a Tel Aviv-based startup is now hoping to push its colored panels into the mainstream thanks to their ability to work sans direct sunlight. Granted, the tinted cells have only shown a 12 percent efficiency rate in testing, but they can reportedly be produced for around half of what a conventional panel costs. In essence, the cost savings comes from the

Speculative work. In its strictest interpretation, this refers to any project that’s undertaken with no guarantee that you’ll be paid. Many web designers think this is a very bad thing indeed, driving down fees, devaluing the profession and encouraging a culture of poor design.
Others think it gives them a way to get their work seen, building their web design portfolio and democratising the design process. To decide which side of the divide you fall, it’s best to know exactly what is meant by ‘spec work’.
The circumstances in which the description

According to a new survey a quarter of Brits use mobile smartphones and laptops to work in bed, much to the alarm of security-obsessed IT departments (and much to the annoyance of their spouses).
The survey, carried out by data security specialists Credant, claims to uncover that "a staggering number of obsessed workers are taking their laptops to bed, much to their partners annoyance."
57 per cent of bed workers work in the sack for "between 2 and 6 hours every week," and unsurprisingly "their bed companions found their partners’ obsession with
