Secure Digital may rule the world, but CF still has a considerable following when it comes to high-end DSLR cameras. This is particularly due to the comparatively high speeds offered by the CompactFlash cards. Ahh.. I remember the old days, when I had a 20GB harddisk, which was more than every other kid in the class. Good old days…
Now, 16Gb and 32GB cards are starting to become commonplace, and frankly, I have trouble filling the 4GB card on my Cybershot. But of course, its different with DSLRs. They are usually owned by real shutterbugs and they also put out rather

So I realize that CF’s days are numbered, and SD will eventually win the flash card war, but for now compact flash manages to stay just one step ahead of secure digital when it comes to storage capacity. Well maybe a few steps to be exact, given Panasonic just announced a 64GB SD card, where as Silicon-Power just revealed their new 128GB CF model. The 400X card features write speeds of up to 90MB/sec allowing it to file away your monstrous RAW shots as fast as you can snap them, though there’s no word on how quickly it will snap away your hard earned cash.

Next door to CES is the Adult Entertainment Expo, and as a journalist, it’s my obligation to go. And I heard that the world’s first sex robot was going to be making its (her?) debut. On Friday I spent about 10 minutes interviewing the CEO of True Companion about the robot to get an overview and some background, and we’ve been promised a live demo today.
We’ve got a video after the break that’s probably NSFW, since it shows a scantily clad (but not naked) android and there is some mild discussion of sex. I’d probably call it PG-13, but

The future of notebooks is somewhat bleak given the rapid development of the touch savvy tablets but Lenovo has other ideas. Lenovo has come up with a smart product that clubs the best of both worlds i.e notebooks and tablets in a unified device which has been christened IdeaPad U1 Hybrid. It is a device which has a notebook base with a detachable tablet atop. With the tablet intact, the device is a fully functional notebook and once detached it can individually function as a handy tablet to surf the web and perform some basic functions.
As an individual unit, the tablet

We’ve seen our share of pocket-sized speed radar detectors, but the new Pocket Radar might be the first that could actually fit in your pocket. Or in the palm of your hand. Of course there are some trade-offs for the size.
Still, the company says that it “forges a new standard in speed radar performance,” and supposedly it can track the speed of everything from a fastball to race car within one mile per hour. We can only take their word for it.
No word on price, but it should be available this Spring and we are sure to see it at CES next week as
