![]() Something which remained unclear about the iPad for a while was how exactly the interface functions. This has finally been unveiled, and it’s not too different from what we’ve seen in Apple products so far. The OS driving the iPad is, as most people expected, an extension of the iPhone 3.0 OS – apps are what make it functional and expand its capabilities, and there’s the familiar tray at the bottom, plus accelerometer functionality. The screen is unlocked by sliding an unlock button, just like on the iPhone – and the display is pretty much the same, just on a larger scale. There’s a home button located at the button, and apps are invoked in the same way as on the iPhone – plus they automatically go full-screen. Swipe-through is present as well, like on the iPhone. There’s also a music player provided, which is sort of an expansion of the iPhone’s, crossing it with iTunes a bit.
