Verizon Motorola DROID 4 QWERTY Smartphone Launched

Verizon has released the Motorola DROID 4, which is the thinnest 4G QWERTY smartphone. Introduced at the CES 2012, the DROID 4 is a 4G LTE mobile phone running Android 2.3.5 operating system. It is available from Verizon Wireless for $199.99 with a new 2-year contract.

The Motorola DROID 4 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It features a 4-inch qHD touchscreen with scratch and scrape resistant glass, a 8 Megapixel camera with Full HD 1080 video recording, a front-facing camera for video chat. The phone supports Verizon’s LTE 4G network providing fast download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G LTE Mobile Broadband coverage areas. The DROID 4 comes with 16GB internal memory. It is business ready with government-grade encryption (FIPS 140-2) for email, calendar and contacts; preloaded with Citrix Receiver for Android (available in webtop) for desktop virtualization and access.

The DROID 4 has water-repellent nanocoating for splash resistance.
