Verizon Wireless is launching the Samsung Illusion, a mid-range Android smartphone. Boosted by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, the phone is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with Swype quick input technology. It comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity.
In addition to 2GB internal storage, the Illusion supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB. It is equipped with 6-axis accelerometer with compass and includes Mobile Hotspot capability for sharing 3G connection to up to five WiFi-enabled devices. The Illusion is designed with the environment in mind with rear casing and battery cover made from 70 percent post-consumer material, front casing made from 35 percent post-consumer material.
The Samsung Illusion Android smartphone is available for $79.99 with a new two-year contract.
