ViewSonic MovieBook to debut this Winter; more home entertainment devices showcased

Apart from the handful of PC models that ViewSonic showcased at CES 2010, many other luring devices were also on show at its pavilion. Home entertainment devices stole the show, with the line up boasting of at least four devices that promise to add charm to your movie viewing moments.

ViewSonic had on show almost identical twins as part of the range on show. While the  VOT530 home theater and the VOT550 home theater sported almost similar looks, we were told that the features inside differed somewhat. The VOT530  and VOT550 come equipped with 2.2GHz dual-core Intel CPU along with Windows 7. Talking of the difference, we get to know that the VOT 530 comes with a smaller 320GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM, while the VOT 550 boasts of 500GB and 4GB of RAM. To add, ViewSonic has spruced up the VOT550  with a Blu-ray drive too.

Yet another device that has been making audiences at CES 2010 fall in love with ViewSonic is the MovieBook personal multimedia player. Designed to play back 1080p videos, the device comes in versions such as 4-inch VPD403, 5-inch VPD513T and VPD550T. While the 4-inch model  comes with 4GB of built in memory and resolution of 480×272, it also has the capability to output full HD via its connection. Meanwhile, the bigger models boast of 8GB of built-in memory. Another significant info we got is that the 513T will support 720p videos and therefore doesn’t get an HDMI output. The 550T, in the meantime, would boast of 1080p video output.

One device we just though is a charmer among the heap is the 4-inch MovieBook (pictured). Built to support 1080p videos, ViewSonic has thrown in a microSDHC memory card slot that can add up to 16GB of space. The MovieBook might be priced somewhere around $200 and is expected to arrive in stores just ahead of winter.
