The white colored HTC EVO 4G handset has become available for sale at certain Best Buy stores in the US, almost a week before schedule. The handset, for which pre-ordering began as early as June 18, was originally scheduled to reach Best Buy outlets only on July 11.
It was earlier reported that the white version of the EVO 4G handset would be available at Sprint stores from August 8 onwards and at other retail stores from the month of September onwards. However, it remains to be seen if the white EVO 4G hitting Best Buy stores early translates to an early availability of the phone from Sprint and other retailers as well.
The early launch of the white HTC EVO 4G was confirmed by certain consumers who unboxed their newly purchased white EVO 4Gs and posted pictures of the phone on the internet. Both HTC and Sprint expect the white-colored version of the smartphone to become popular due to the unavailability of white iPhone 4 handsets.
The price of the white HTC EVO 4G is similar to the price of the black EVO 4G at $199.99 along with a 2-year contract from Sprint.
